Send A Message of Thanks To Alberta’s Nurses - Protect Alberta’s Nurses

After almost two years on the front-lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alberta’s nurses and health care workers need our support now more than ever.

Will you show your support by writing a message to thank them for their hard work and dedication? They worked through harsh, unimaginable conditions to keep us all safe. It’s time to show nurses that we care – because right now, they are hurting.

The more messages we write, the more nurses will see how much Albertans appreciate them.

Thank you messages may take some time to appear on this page.

Add your message thanking nurses for everything they have done to keep us safe.

Here's what supporters are saying

Thank you so much for all the hard work you do to keep us well. You are real life hero's!

Thank you for all that you do. I know that nursing can certainly be a thankless job some days. Know that even if your patient isn’t saying thank you now he/she will be appreciating everything you are doing when he/she is home in her/his own bed.  I was once a patient in the U of A for 6 weeks and feel regret everyday that I did not thank my nurses enough for doing what they do. Keep up the good  work. You are truly appreciated.

First I’d like to say a great big THANK YOU to all the nurses & support staff ❤️‼️ My daughter is an LPN, so I’ve got some idea of the working conditions & long hours they put in, day after day 😳‼️ Unfortunately Covid has brought out the worst in some patients who feel that they have the right to verbally or physically lash out at our hardworking nurses ! This behaviour is unacceptable! We need to show RESPECT, APPRECIATION & please let’s just BE KIND to them all 😍‼️

I am so very sorry that you have had to face the brunt of such antagonism from the public you are here to serve. Please know there are millions more of us who very much apprecciate what you have done and continue to do. I have been fortunate not to require your outstanding services during this time as I have been very careful, am triple jabbed and follow the recommended protocol. Keep up your outstanding work. Where would we be without the care and compassion of nurses? Thank you is not barely enough to express what is owed to these people who give selflessly in this time of need particularly. In normal(?) circumstances, their hard work is just expected and certainly the government feels no need to reward them for their efforts. We need to make it clear that if they are not recognized, why would anyone be drawn to this profession? Nurses are responsible for so many different aspects of care and we need them more than most realize. Nurses are to be applauded and thanked and recognized by all of us . Many the New Year be an easier one for all!.

Thank you so much for everything you do. Nurses have given so much and endured so much during this pandemic... it is amazing to me how you all keep going, not only just to keep showing up shift after shift, but to keep on showing the deep caring that you give to every patient, no matter what has brought them into your care. Your dedication and professionalism in the face of not only insane work expectations but also disrespect from some of the very people you serve is astounding. A particular Thank you to the nurses at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary who helped me through my miscarriage this past September. You were all so kind, compassionate, and caring. I was hesitant to come into the hospital, because COVID cases were somewhat high at the time. But you all reassured me that I made the right choice. I have been grateful everyday for the past few months that I was able to receive the care I did. It was because nurses continued and continue to show up to care for sick Albertans. Once again, my heartfelt thank you. The health care system would fall apart without you all.

I come from a family of health care workers, in cluding doctor and nurses. While I am not a health care worker, I know how hard you all work. I have been in the hospital on numerous occasions, and I know it's the nurses always give the best of themselves. I want to thank you for the care you give to others. Our nurses in Alberta certainly deserve much more than the UCP is giving, and taking away from you.

Thank you to every LPN, RN, NP, and every other field of nursing for caring and tending to every patient, managing the wards, and assisting in the ER and OR’s. Each and every one of you are superheroes and I look up to all of you so much and hope I can become a nurse alongside all of you one day. The healthcare system would not exist without you and for that you are resilient, strong, and brave for each and every day you can get out of bed super early or super late and save lives; truly there is nothing more heroic than that. This message is the least I can do to thank each and every one of you and you all deserve better wages and less patients per nurse!!!!

Thank you for ever second you’ve spent at your job. You save lives, or just make a painful experience tolerable… every ounce of your effort is not in vain. My son was saved by nurses. My life was saved by nurses. You are the front line. Period. Thank you for doing what I and many many others would not be capable of withstanding the pressures of your job. Especially not the ones cutting wages, hours and perks. If only we could make the politicians hear, you are hero’s truly. You saved my mom's life two years ago after a heart attack.. she’s here because of someone like you. Thank you ever so much.

For a brief moment, at the start of this pandemic, I was working in the MRI department at the UAH. I've seen first hand the level of attention, care, and caution taken with vulnerable patients. I applaud all nurses and medical practitioners in Alberta who have been going into work day after day and dealing with scared patients, angry patients, people in complete denial of reality, and physical/emotional burnout. I wish to thank the nurses of Alberta who with great care and love nursed me back to health. You are angels on this earth. I watched as you dealt with very difficult patients and turned the other cheek and worked overtime during our time of Covid.  You work selflessly and I realized if nurses ran the world we would live in peace and beauty.  Unsung heroes, all of you! Risking your lives so others can heal. My deepest thanks and respect. Shame on anyone who abuses your trust and wellbeing!

Words will never be enough to thank our nurses, health care workers and support staff in hospitals for EVERYTHING they have done throughout this pandemic. When they should have enjoying a reprieve in the fall of 2021, they had to double down due to the Kenny Government's negligence in how the pandemic was managed in summer and fall of 2021. The fact that we were all exhausted from pandemic and those connected to hospitals got no break, was truly painfully!! Thank you to all of you for all you have done!!

They are devoted to our betterment, and are continuing to be tested like never before; a gleaming symbol of altruism. This fight has gone on for so long now. Stay strong and stay safe. Thank you 💞

Yours is a profession of caring and compassion, giving and helping. You deserve our support our respect and our gratitude. And you deserve far more than this government gives you on all accounts.   Please do not lose faith. You are needed and wanted. Sincerely.
